The TL;DR
🆓 Your current weekly roundup of AI Tutorials, Tools, & News email remains free (forever). This weekly Monday delivery is known as the “Delta Notes” post.
Why Altered Craft paid tier?
After 2+ years of compiling this newsletter and conversations with countless developers, I know many of you are looking for more. You’re looking for guidance through the biggest disruption of our careers.
🎁 See below for an Early adopter discount: 20% off for the first year
I’ve left AWS to dedicate myself full-time to Altered Craft. Your subscription directly enables me to spend the 40+ hours a week researching, testing, and writing the thoughtful analysis you deserve. Independent from vendor influence and hype cycles.
Quality takes time. Paid revenue gives me that time.
That’s why I’m adding a paid tier to Altered Craft – Tech Explorations and Human-Centered Guides that unpack what these changes mean for your code, your career, your craft.
Here’s What Comes with a Paid Subscription
Delta Notes (Weekly)
Your trusted filter for AI developments that actually matter. No hype, no fear-mongering, just the changes worth your attention.
Long form posts, diving deeper
These posts beyond the news with thoughtful analysis from 25+ years shipping production code—patterns that work, lessons from failures, and frameworks for navigating both the technical and human challenges of AI adoption.
Tech Explorations: Deep dives into real-world technical solutions I’ve battle-tested myself.
Production aligned patterns that actually survive in real engineering ecosystems
Functional POCs included when they add value (clone from Github)
Honest assessments of both wins and gotchas
Human-Centered Guides: Beyond technical implementation, there’s the equally crucial human side.
Guidance on which skills/techniques to develop vs. hold on or ignore
Strategies for maintaining excellence when everyone’s rushing to ship
Real scenarios, real solutions, applicable Monday morning
Additional experiments
I’ll be experimenting with alternate content creation most of which will land in the paid tier. These may include:
Concise task guides/checklists: The actual workflows and checklists I use daily in my consulting practice. Not theoretical best practices—these are living documents that evolve as I discover what works (and what doesn’t) across client projects.
Podcasting: This is a further in future consideration, but one I am seriously considering.
Other experiments relevant for this audience. In this AI ecosystems it’s sometimes difficult to image what’s possible tomorrow.
